Max C. Gould, 64, local florist died of a heart attack Thursday afternoon at his home, 902 Sloan Street. He was born Oct 23, 1900 at McComb, Ill to James E. and Maude Yates Gould. He was married to Christine Rich in June 1926 in Chicago. He was a member of Rotary, Lodge No 50 F&AM, Commandary, Scottish Rite & Eagles. He was graduated from McComb HS and attended Lombard College. Mr. Gould was in the nursery business in Chicago. He came to Crawfordsville in 1937. He has operated Gould's Flowers since then. He was a licensed pilot and avid sportsman. he is survived by his wife; a sister, Mrs. Joseph David of Crawfordsville and 3 nieces. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Rev. Ralph Jones will officiate. Burial in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Saturday.

Source - Crawfordsville Journal Review - 1 Dec 1964 Funeral services for Max C. Gould were held Monday afternoon in the Hunt and Son funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Jones officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery. Serving as pall bearers and assisting with the floral tributes were Frank Howard Jr., Warren McGaughey, Ralph Cunningham, Martin Paligraf, Dr. Robert Cornell and Frank Durham. Selections were played on the organ by Mrs. Roscoe White. Mr. Gould, local florist since 1937, died Thursday afternoon in his home.
